Asador de Guadalmina restaurant in San Pedro de Alcántara,Closure order served on Marbella restaurant for defying no smoking law
Closure order served on Marbella restaurant for defying no smoking law: "The order to close was served on the Asador de Guadalmina restaurant in San Pedro de Alcántara on Thursday, when the restaurant was visited by two health inspectors shortly after 5pm and the waiters were instructed to stop serving the customers.
El País said that the owner signed the order as ‘not in agreement’ and then invited everyone who was in the restaurant to a drink. The customers applauded when he posed for photographs with the media with the closure order in his hand.
The action by the Junta de Andalucía comes after he has continued to defy the new legislation on smoking which came into force at the beginning of the year which bans smoking in all closed public spaces.
The closure order is provisional and will be in place for around two months while the proceedings opened against the restaurant by the Junta de Andalucía are underway. The owner must pay the 145,000 € which has been imposed at the end of that period, but he continues to say that he will not pay it."
