'Huge opportunity' for cheap Spain holiday villas
Marc Da-Silva explained that people will have plenty of time to search for the ideal property as prices will not rise for some time.
'There is a huge opportunity; in places like Spain you can pick up properties for next to nothing,' he said.
Mr Da-Silva also offered some good news for people looking to buy luxury villas for golf holidays in Portugal.
'Countries like Portugal – which are very popular with British buyers – are going to continue to struggle for many years ahead,' he added.
The journalist went on to explain that people who are being forced into retirement with good savings are those that will be considering a move abroad.
House prices in Spain have been falling recently, with the average cost of property down by 1.8 per cent in the last year."
